Volunteering first changes the life of the people you help, then it changes your own life.
Davenport, FL (PRWEB) April 24, 2013

Giving back to the community has always been part of SunKiss Villa’s philosophy. Whether contributing to the community by donating time, talent or money, giving is a way of life for this company and they encourage others to become involved in their communities in some way.
“When you share in the community by donating your time you become far more aware of the struggles and challenges that other people and organizations face. You also become part of the solution,” says Mark Douglas, CEO of SunKiss Villas.

Not only has SunKiss Villas volunteered at various Disney World Marathons that help to benefit cancer research for leukemia and lymphoma, autism awareness and more, they have also volunteered at Special Olympic events and hospital environments in whatever capacity they are asked to help with. When SunKiss Villas volunteers, they are there to help, regardless of the job they are asked to do. For them, time is time so when they volunteer they give as much of themselves as possible in the amount of time they have available to serve.
“We have a special needs child and received help when we needed it. It was important to us for our son to learn about giving back so he volunteers with us. Since he is wheelchair bound he likes to help escort people from place to place or deliver things from one station to another at the various events or hospitals. He enjoys helping and being useful. The positive response he gets from the people he helps makes him feel good. But that good feeling is not just limited to him, we feel good about helping also,” says Mark Douglas, CEO of SunKiss Villas.

People who volunteer say "Volunteering changes lives. First, it will change the life of the people you help. Then, it will change your own life." Many schools now require students to spend some time volunteering. Part of the philosophy behind these requirements is for students to see beyond themselves, to see the bigger picture. But human nature needs to have constant reminders so volunteering should not be a single experience but rather an ongoing life style.

With the recent tragedy at the Boston Marathon the staff of SunKiss Villas is naturally uneasy about volunteering at future events but they are determined to volunteer regardless. They are already scheduled to volunteer at Disney's Expedition Everest Challenge on May 3 and 4, 2013 which benefits the Snow Leopard Trust and Disney's Conservation Fund which has awarded more than $20 million since its inception in 1995, to more than 315 nonprofit organizations working in 112 countries to protect wildlife and much more. They are also scheduled to volunteer at the Special Olympics on May 17 and 18, 2013 in Disney's ESPN Wide World Of Sports complex.

“These events need all the help they can get and it is not unusual to have several thousand volunteers at events like this. We want to help make a difference. We found ways to volunteer that are right for our family. Not everyone will want to volunteer the same way. There are countless ways to participate. Find something you are passionate about. Then go online and chances are good you will find a way to volunteer that is right for you. Get your family involved and watch the attitude of your children change and mature. Become part of the ‘real world’. Volunteer,” says Mark Douglas, CEO of SunKiss Villas.

“Ms Douglas is very analytical and precise. She has a ‘jump in, roll up our sleeves’ attitude and puts 200% of herself into everything she does. Ms. Douglas has already helped to streamline several of our operations and has been invaluable in our strategic planning, accounting, tracking, forecasting, and so much more. Many times our guests call because they are overwhelmed with the process and are not sure which home is right for them. Professional and friendly service is why guests return again and again.

SunKiss Villas is an up and coming force in the Orlando Vacation Rental industry. Offering quality, private vacation home rentals near Disney World in Orlando, Florida with professional service and an easy to use online reservation system it is no wonder guests are excited. The website is well laid out and easy to navigate and best of all it is not cluttered with adds and other distractions. The search feature makes it easy to navigate, find the villa and be reserving a vacation home near Disney in as little as 2 clicks. Browsing the entire inventory is always an option with the ability to view pictures of each home, as well as more detailed amenity lists.

With homes ranging in size from 3 to 6 bedrooms and geared to fit every budget, finding that dream vacation home becomes very easy. Because these homes are convenient to all the Orlando attractions, including Universal Studios, SeaWorld, Disney and more, the villas are even more appealing.
“Many of our homes, including our standard homes, have amenities which other agencies consider executive level. This includes wireless broadband and game rooms. This makes our homes an even greater value,” says Mark Douglas, CEO of SunKiss Villas.

In the past month SunKiss Villas has added 5 more vacation homes to its inventory of Disney Vacation Home Rentals. In addition, more staff has been added enabling SunKiss to position the company as a driving force in the Orlando Vacation Rental industry. “Although by some standards we are considered small with 45 homes in our current inventory we continue to grow. We expect to have a banner year for reservations and would love to have more homes to offer our guests, including smaller units of 1 and 2 bedrooms. Our growth is due to the quality support staff we have. That’s why our guests keep coming back,” says Mark Douglas.

SunKiss Villas is not new to the industry. It has been in operation since the beginning of 2000, starting as a mom and pop operation with a single home. It has grown over the years to its current level and is looking at greater growth this year.

With beautiful vacation homes in great locations near Disney World, good amenities, top quality guest services, the best support staff and value to guests, SunKiss Villas is worth checking out when planning a trip to Orlando and Disney World.

The Future of Peak Vacation Periods?

I've gone to Disney and the other Orlando attractions dozens of times over the past 15 years, including a few at Easter time (spring break) in the past 3 years or so. It should come as no surprise to many that the few weeks around Easter are the busiest times of the year for Disney and the Orlando area. This includes vacation home rentals as well.

During the past 2 years Disney has been so busy and the area has had so much traffic I vowed never to go to Disney during the Easter period again. For me this makes sense since I can go whenever I want anyway. To many guests it's not an option because of school schedules, etc. But for those seasoned and savvy Orlando guests, and for those who want to get the most out of their time in Orlando and Disney I can't help but wonder if the wise will make their vacation plans for months when the area is less congested.

Way back when we first discovered Orlando and Disney, October used to be an "off season" month and we loved traveling to Disney at that time. Within 5 years of that discovery October was no longer an off season month but a preferred month for the smart traveler. Vacation homes are much more booked for October than they used to be and what was once an off season month as become a "mid season" month.

At the moment the Orlando area still has 2 months of the year that are not heavily booked - May and September. I think this is mainly because of school schedules. In May many children are just finishing up school so the parents don't want to pull them out of school for vacation. The same is true for September - the kids are just starting back to school so it's not a good time to take a break for a vacation. But because the other 10 months of the year have become consistently booked, I can't help but wonder if the wise traveler will take advantage of the low periods of May and September. For adults this can be the perfect opportunity because all the kids are back in school, the attractions are far less congested, the lines not nearly as long, traffic is at a minimum, etc. But just as October eventually became a "preferred" travel month I can't help but wonder how long it will take for the same to happen to May and September?

I guess I would say if you can vacation in May or September I would recommend it. "Get it while you can"!!
